    Guadalajara's Feria Internacional del Libro (FIL), the Spanish-language book world's most important event, celebrated its 22nd anniversary from November 29–December 7 with record attendance for the second year in a row.
  • Tusquest Prize Not Awarded This Year
    On December 2, during the 22nd Guadalajara Book Fair (FIL) the judges of the Premio Tusquets de Novela, authors Elmer Mendoza, Almudena Grandes, Jorge Edwards, and editor Beatriz de Moura, chose not to award this year’s award , saying they could not find a winning work among 427 submissions.
  • Premio Herralde Goes to Mexico’s Daniel Sada
    On Monday, November 3, Mexican writer Daniel Sada was unanimously declared winner of the XXVI Premio Herralde de Novela, one of the most prestigious literary prizes awarded by a Spanish publisher, for his novel Casi nunca (“Almost Never”).
