Innovative Interfaces has also announced the launch of a new digital collection product called Content Pro, focused on increasing discovery of digital collections, as well as simplifying the digitization process itself. Content Pro aims to make digital assets more easily retrievable using relevancy ranking based on metadata, thumbnail browsability, and integration with compatible federated search products and discovery interfaces such as Innovative's Research Pro and Encore.

Content Pro “is an [Open Archives Initiative–Protocol for Metadata Harvesting] content service provider” that aims to make collections' metadata readily and easily harvestable for “greater discovery by outside libraries, content repositories, and even search engines like Google,” according to the company's release. “Libraries are in a digital transition,” said product manager Rice Majors, under a mandate to embrace and “encompass digital and digitized content.” Content Pro is designed to streamline digitization workflow for library staff, including a simple management tool “appropriate for all levels of staff,” with a metadata submission interface allowing for single- or batch record input using Qualified Dublin Core data fields.—Josh Hadro
